Omnistab ® AN565 has dual functions as a primary and secondary antioxidant: As a primary antioxidant, its hindered phenolic groups can bind to peroxide radicals (ROO ·) and alkoxane radicals (RO ·) generated during the oxidation process, directly terminating the oxidation chain reaction and blocking material degradation from the source. As a co-antioxidant, its sulfide structure can efficiently decompose hydroperoxides (ROOH), preventing them from decomposing into new active free radicals and inhibiting the regeneration cycle of the oxidation chain. This not only achieves intramolecular synergistic protection but also can be used in combination with other antioxidants, significantly enhancing the antioxidant effect.
