The adhesives used by human beings in the early days came from natural materials, such as animal and plant adhesives, and most of them were water-soluble. However, with the development of modern industry after the 20th century, both the output and performance of natural adhesives can not meet the requirements. Baekeland created the industrial phenolic resin in 1909, which led to the discovery and promotion of various synthetic adhesives. In today's society, adhesives have been widely used in our industry and production life., such as architecture, decoration, automobile, shoemaking, textile, electronics, etc.

According to the resin type, adhesive can be divided into the following categories:

Epoxy adhesive

Epoxy resin adhesives belong to thermo-setting resin adhesives. It has good bonding performance and high bonding strength with all kinds of metal and non-metal materials, which is known as "versatile glue". At present, it has been widely used in construction, automobile, electronics, electrical appliances and daily household goods.

Polyacrylic resin adhesive

It mainly used in the production of pressure-sensitive adhesives, but also used in textile and construction fields.

Polyurethane adhesive

It can bond a variety of materials and keep the physical and chemical properties at low temperature or ultra-low temperature after bonding.

Hot melt adhesive

Such as EVA hot melt adhesive, polyamide hot melt adhesive, polyester hot melt adhesive, polyolefin hot melt adhesive, etc.

Silicone adhesive

Its unique molecular structure produces the remarkable weather resistance, which makes it resilient after long exposure to the outdoors. It has the advantages of no foaming and cracking, durable bonding strength, and good extrusion performance. Silicone adhesive can adapt to outdoor, indoor, humid, low temperature and other operating environment.

Problems in adhesive modification

When adhesive is used in high temperature environment, the bond strength will decline or even be completely destroyed. After long-term use, adhesive can even become yellow and discolored, which seriously affect the product appearance. In order to maintain the long-term stability of adhesives during storage and use, it is essential to add stabilizers and antioxidants to the formulation. The combination can significantly improve the heat oxidation resistance.

l Good compatibility with adhesive substrate. 

l The production process and physical and mechanical properties of adhesives won’t be affected.

l Storage stability. It won’t produce discoloration, stratification, gel phenomenon.

l Non-toxic and less pollution.
