With the continuous expansion of polymer material applications, low molecular weight HALS have been difficult to meet some high temperature processing environments and applications with high standards of material weathering because of the defects of easy migration, volatility, and intolerance of extraction.

In recent years, the development of high molecular weight HALS has gradually become a hot spot in global polymer additive market.

Although high molecular weight HALS is resistant to extraction and difficult to volatilize, the larger molecular weight may lead to poor migration performance of HALS in polymer materials, which is not conducive to the replenishment of light stabilizers from the inside out, and on the contrary, affects the normal play of its light stabilizing effect.

The key to solve this application contradiction is to adjust the molecular quality of the light stabilizer to the optimal range!

After continuous research, it is found that the molecular mass of high molecular weight HALS is controlled at 1500-3000 g/mol, which is more suitable. The stabilizer is resistant to migration, while its light stabilization effect and dispersion are also excellent.
